Happy 2014 to come!!

I know, I know...long time no post. The new studio has been blowing up and taking a lot of time. I have not been able to update my posts here and very sorry for that. I will do better by taking one day out of the week to do just that. Lots of things going on at the school and classes are posted with dates for drawing and painting classes. I have yet to get my new Pinot and Pat Parties and kids painting drawing workshop dates posted yet but working on that today! Three exciting master painter workshops coming too! Jeff Legg, Qiang Huang and Romel dela Torre are coming to Lindale TX in 2014! Very excited about this. All information is on my website at so, check it all out. Have to say goodbye to my old website.....it's time. But you'll enjoy the newer one! Happy New Year!

We have been approved!!!

This is the new Killaby Art Studio/School/Art Center! It's not much to look t but it has so much potential and much needed space for classes & workshops, artwalk, student gallery events, etc. The rent has been set as well as the deposit and it's a bit higher than I expected but they were willing to split that up into payments.....OK so if ever I needed a bit of help it's now and I know that the word "Donate" and "fundraiser" turns people off but helping further and promote the arts programs is what it's all about isn't it? my website has a donate button and you don't have to have a paypal account so COME ON!! just a few bucks adds up and if I don't raise enough money for this opportunity I may have to pass it up, pack my bags and move back to Oregon! my website... https://maureenkillaby.squarespace.com/ isn't it worth it!

Fundraiser for Art School/Center

Killaby Art Studio/School/Center is starting a fundraiser to fund an art center and school in Lindale Texas. We are embarking on an artistic journey to enhance the arts in East Texas and beyond, enriching lives and give back to the community. The greatest gift to give a person is the ability to create and teach our children to express, be able to create as adults and provide this in an artistic environment promoting Fine Art in the community. The goals of this is to provide an environment for interaction among artists and the development of creative ideas. To provide opportunity for artists to exhibit their work. To offer a variety of programs and events that teach and display art. To enrich the community. Please if you find it in your heart to donate we would greatly appreciate every penny donated. We are looking to raise at least $3000 to $5000. to fund the school. Help us make our goal. If you can only donate a dollar or $5 dollars....it all counts. We are in need of many supplies, like equipment, furniture, easels, casts, small items such as paper towels, pencils, paper, erasers, little things...so many items I can't count. It is our hope that the Killaby Art Center can provide a space where people can come together from various backgrounds and worldviews to find common ground, community, and gain a vision for a more beautiful world. Thank you. Please follow this link to donate. Whatever you give is greatly appreciated. https://maureenkillaby.squarespace.com/donate/

New Artwork

finished this one the other day. I LOVE the feel of this one and the colors. Everything about this fell into place easily so it was meant to be. I started another painting yesterday and scraped it out. It just did not feel right so back to the easel to start again, bigger. Will post an update later.
